BUBBLE BUBBLE - DOCUMENTARY - 2026
What happens when you pair artists of the same discipline, but with very different backgrounds, in the same room for a couple of hours?
In bubbel bubble, we follow the interactions of two performance artists, two musicians, and two painters: three pairs of artists, placed in different white rooms, engaged in collaborative creation. This is their first meeting but, spontaneously and idiosyncratically, they invent something new together – while playing with time, method, craft and each other. The journey is both surprising and exhilarating.

Vacillating between past and present, we observe Ewald at home. While his mother was hoping for a better future, he left everything behind to move to a new country. het LIMBURGSE LANDSCHAP - 2021
The Kalkgraslandschap in the deep south of Limburg is entirely unique in the Netherlands. The climate there is warmer and drier than in the rest of the country, and near Maastricht, you’ll find one of the most beautiful spots: the Julianagroeve. There, you’ll see towering marl walls and find yourself knee-deep in tall grass, which is periodically trimmed by grazing marl landscape sheep. But there is even more beauty to see; you might come across the yellow-bellied fire-bellied toad along one of the ponds in the area, rare butterflies can be found, and as twilight sets in, bats exchange the caves for the blue-orange sky.
Sound designer Niels Koster and musician Ranie Ribeiro have traveled to the Kalkgraslandschap with special equipment and instruments to make recordings. With the captured sounds, they have each shaped a unique composition in their own way, which Ribeiro has turned into music.
